1st Day of School

The end of summer is finally here and the kids are back in school. All change for the kids with a much smaller school (68 children in the Village school as opposed to the 362 they are used to in Brentwood), a Church of England school so bibles, prayer time and morning worship will be a regular feature in the school schedule (not to mention nativity plays!), hot school dinners served at school and most importantly school uniforms and a dress code!! (prizing the soccer ball baseball hat off Ben's head was a battle as was getting him in long school pants).

Silverdale Horticultural Show

The kids softened the blow of no Saanich Fair this year by taking the Silverdale Village Horticultural Show by storm with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places each in a variety of arts & crafts categories... No rosettes or ribbons but cold hard cash was on offer which is always a winner with the kids. That said, Abigail already has her eye on a Best in Show Cup for next year for the most prizes won.
