Coronation Street Party

After watching the King's Coronation on TV on Saturday we then joined an estimated 20,000 people on Sunday at Morecambe Promenade to celebrate the Coronation and help break the Guinness book of records for the UK's largest Coronation street party. The morning was a bit overcast and so we packed coats and umbrellas just in case, but we need not have worried as the sun came out and it was a scorching afternoon and warm evening. Mum and Aunt June went full out with the table decorations and party food and the kids enjoyed the festivities, the parade and the after-party (although we didn't stay late enough for the fireworks). We even got our ugly mugs photographed and in the paper (not sure where they got the "Morecambe residents from").
