Due to the international break, Saturday was crowned "non-league football day" in England, as fans normally attending Premiership and Championship games attend smaller, closer to home non-league games - motivated by half price entry and cheap concessions. What this meant for us regulars to non-league football was that the line-up's for a pie or a pint were verging on the ridiculous as 600 hundred non-regulars, tripled the usual 300 attendees at Lancaster City FC. Dad was under the weather and so I treated Josie and the kids, plus two friends Connor and Charlie, to the delights of non-league football, minus the usual pie and pint (I wasn't queuing in that queue). We enjoyed watching Lancaster beat Hyde 2-1...
Sunday's game was on a slightly different scope and scale as we travelled to Wembley to see England v Ukraine in front of 86,000 supporters. In Abigail's words "Wembley was amazing! From the experience of the big match to even just the high speed train ride to Wembley. We left on Sunday morning on a 3hr train journey. But the best thing was definately the match, England v's Ukraine. Harry Kane, England's leading goal scorer, added another goal to his record, taking his tally to 55 international goals, then Bukayo Saka scored an amazing individual goal in the top hand corner. The game was left England 2 Ukraine 0. We had a sleep and the next morning we came back home on the train. We missed the first part of school Monday morning and I missed double maths - Yes!!!!" From Ben "It was amazing! At the football game England v's Ukraine my hero Harry Kane scored the first goal, it was brilliant to see him in real life and score such as stupendous goal !!!!! 2-0 to England."
Pre-game, Wembley Way, Sir Bobby Moore statue and BoxPark food and drink
In the ground nice and early to soak up the occasion (and the sky high beer & food prices)
85,000 fans trying to sign in tune and remember it's God Save the "King" not "Queen"

Looks like you had a great Football themed weeken Steve. X
