It's been a busy month for the kids and so this blog is a catch-up summary of this months other activities. The start of the month was World Book Day and the school had a big fancy dress day for favourite book characters. Abigail went with her Canadian roots as Anne of Green Gables (not many UK kids had heard of her!) and Ben went as Simba from the Lion King (wearing his sweater from the theatre show...)

Abigail has been singing in the school choir and this month the school participated in the "Lancashire Schools Singing Festival" with hundreds of school children from nearby schools all singing together at the Ashton Hall. A full day off school with rehearsals in the morning and an hour long group concert in the afternoon in the grand Ashton Hall. Original songs, beat box raps, world music and traditional songs including "Bring me Sunshine" a tribute to Eric Morecambe. Much fun had by all.

Finally the kids have continued enjoying Geocaching and finding lots of fun treasures in the local Warton Crag Nature Reserve. It's especially fun to do the multi-cache hunts that include maths quizzes to work out the co-ordinates to the next cache. What a great distraction to mum and dad enjoying a long hike without the kids realising they are hiking!
