We recently enjoyed a wet few days in the Lake District as we visited Keswick in the heart of the "Upper Lakes" (read high and very wet) in Cumbria. Unfortunately the weather heard we were coming and welcomed us with a full on winter storm for 95% of the visit with driving rain, wind and stormy weather. Too wet to risk heading into the hills on a hike but we enjoyed Keswick market, coffee in the square and celebrated my Aunt June's birthday in a wonderful holiday home she rented where we played games, danced and drank too much. We did get maybe 2 x 1 hr window when the rain stopped so we speed hiked to Derwent Water to soak up the view of Cat Bells and the surrounding fells and took a few photos.
