RIP Queen Elizabeth

Significant and somber news this last week for the United Kingdom (and the World) with the death of Queen Elizabeth. With a new Prime Minister only 3 days in office and some significant cost of living challenges its sure to be some rocky times for the UK. It's been wall to wall media coverage of the death, funeral plans, King Charles succession and plans for such a big change (money, stamps, national anthem!) - even the Football games were all cancelled!!! For us it's been a relatively quiet last week supporting the kids transition to school, helping with reading, homework and learning about JAM (Jesus and Me not cookery) and adjusting from vacation mode to every day mode. It's been a nice change of pace and we've been enjoy some simple pleasures on the doorstep like walks, bike rides, village cricket, helping with the garden, as well as preparing for the year ahead - buying and stacking firewood for the wood burner to counter the soaring energy costs here.
